The lozenge...

Another attempt at the separated portion's form. The "lozenge" or "eye" shape works (but starts to create another "repellent corner") on the SE side but it blocks the subway entrance on the NW side... I will keep working on it.

Rick,

Take the truncated square and connect the farthest points with a large curve. If the drawing of the former is correct, the curve wil miss the T station and createa smooth exterior that is VERY different from the second layer of exterior. Thus, the paths are preserved, the street corner is addressed and there are very different layers as one works from the intersection of the two steets into the store.

How this resolves above and inside is an interesting question. How is this new truncated lozenge used, (or any shape for that matter)? Is this a display area?

How does this tri-wall circulation begin to play itself out once the user is inside the building?

Try the revised plan and let's look inside for the next step.

Rick,

Funny how things change. I remember your model in Boston being square with a 2x size square on top! I really like the sketches and forms you are creating. I look forward to some curves. Again... how things change!
