The Sketch Developed - 1st Draft
This is a start on what I was getting at in my previous post. I have attempted to add the element of time by increasing the thickness and the darkness of the connection lines over time. The associated text also increases in size and darkness. The "object of my desires" is the most intense image as it is the culmination of the experience as it comes home with me.

Your map has come along since your sketch. At first glance the research lines are the ones that stand out and I had a hard time finding the Purchase path. Is the length of the lines also representative of time? Are the research lines the longest because that is where the most time was spent? I'm glad you are coming along.

I think your mapping experience is quite interesting. Matt's experience was about looking up, yours is about looking down. It makes me wonder which one of you is the consumer. My interpretation would be that, Matt is the consumer looking up at all the choices and yours about the product itself being sucked down through a force greater than the universe that brings it to picturesque Maine. What could the Maine consumer offer for the product that other global consumers don't? Sports, solitude, Skiing, fishing? They both have galactic move. So Cool!

I agree with Eddie on this one. You are either being watched by big brother, or buying in to the system. I'd like to see you pushi this idea further. I don't think this is a map yet, but more a sketch hinting at your position on such things. The iphone is a pretty non-threatening device, yet it hovers about the earth, the US and specifically your home in your State.
What is it about the system, the larger system that you are trying to say? Is apple the issue, technology in general, satelites in particular? Your position is intruging and likely powerful if you can define it and give it to us with your purchase map.
